Our founding
Datacenter Wales began in a quiet room above a café in Caerdydd, where a few too many cups of coffee turned into an idea: hosting doesn't have to be a black box. We started by helping local groups and independent developers get their projects online, offering tools and infrastructure with no hidden catches. Along the way, we realised that hosting can also be a platform for defending the open web
- so we started building technology that doesn’t just serve, but protects.
Growth & beyond
As interest grew, so did the scale of our ambitions. We now operate under both datacenter.wales and datacenter.cymru, continuing to build infrastructure with personality. Not everything is what it seems on the surface - and that’s by design. Our network includes decoy systems and traps built to attract, profile, and ultimately stop malicious traffic before it reaches the sites we protect. We don’t just offer hosting - we offer cover fire.
